You have no idea what a positive influence RCPD has had on me. I wouldn't have been able to accomplish nearly as much in my undergraduate years without the support of RCPD. -Sonali |
The staff and students of the RCPD are pleased to participate as a TRIO Student Support Services program. The federal government established TRIO programs in 1965 to ensure equal educational opportunity for all Americans. The Student Support Services program targets students with disabilities as well as students from low income and first generation college families. The mission is to help these students enter college, achieve success, graduate and move on to participate more fully in America's economic and social life. Students in the TRIO Student Support Services programs are more than twice as likely to remain in college than those students from similar backgrounds who did not participate in the program. The RCPD in collaboration with the Office of Supportive Services has competed for and received ongoing funds under these programs since 1974 with MSU students receiving significant benefits from this additional programmatic support.
