Did you know that the famous English author and poet, John Milton, became blind at age 43 and went on to create his most famous epic, Paradise Lost?

MSU Bikes Center Maximizes Mobility

May 6th, 2008

When MSU student Benjamin Adu-Addai's adapted bicycle broke down, he knew it wouldn't be an easy fix.  Due to a disability, Adu-Addai has a three-wheeled bike in order to help him keep balance.

Special welding and other services were needed to make sure that his bike was safe and sound for him to use. MSU's Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities contacted the MSU Bikes Service Center for help with the situation. Doug Aves, a Grounds equipment mechanic with Landscape Services, stepped up to fix the adapted bike.

Thanks to the joint cooperation, Adu-Addai is now able to ride around campus on a safe bicycle.  He said he would like to thank the anonymous donor who provided the money to cover the cost of the repairs.

Student Benjamin Adu-Addai is pictured here with his three wheeled bicycle accompanied by Tim Potter and Doug Aves.

When your bike gets a flat tire anywhere on campus, one of the first people to call to get it fixed is Tim Potter, MSU Bikes Marketing and Sales coordinator, at the service center. Potter and his staff work year round encouraging safe and effective bicycle usage. Whether you need to rent a bike, buy one, get a new tire, purchase a lock or any of the other services related to bicycling, visit Potter and his staff - they can help you out.
