In the past century, public education has become more accessible for students with disabilities. Students with visual impairments have been more able to attend public schools instead of schools for the blind, thanks to a great advance in technology and learning strategies. During the month of May this year, the Michigan Historical Museum provided a free exhibit focused on informing the public about blindness and visual impairment in education. The exhibit included math games and strategies, maps, body diagrams, braille textbooks, and more, all regularly utilized by visually impaired students in the classroom. RCPD's Director, Michael Hudson, was highlighted in this Lansing State Journal article about the exhibit.
