MSU RCPD participated in two notable giving activities during this holiday season: one to support a local family, and the other to assist the families affected by the Oxford High School shooting. Susie Hoffmann, staff Real-Time Captioning provider, coordinated support for the local family who recently arrived from Afghanistan, while Ashley Maloff, Ability Access Specialist for Chronic Health, organized the Oxford High School donation drive.
Every year, RCPD adopts a family who needs extra help during the holiday season. This year, RCPD collected donations for a military family. The father served in Afghanistan and relocated there for a few years with his wife and three young children. The family recently moved to Lansing and needed help getting started with their new life in the U.S. They had no car, stroller, or car seat. RCPD raised funds for a car seat and a double stroller so the family can safely transport the children.
