This spring, the RCPD hosted two informational webinars aimed at high school counselors and special education teachers. This virtual training provided high school counselors and special education staff with information about how to help disabled students make the transition to college.
Topics covered included the legal differences between K-12 and college, the accommodation process at MSU, and examples of common accommodations provided at the college level. Slides and recordings were sent to all attendees, and participants were encouraged to share these resources with colleagues.

Specialists Tesia Freer, Jessica Lutz, Hannah Huey-Jones, Lynne Swerhone and Assistant Director of Assistive Technology Innovation Tyler Smeltekop worked collaboratively to design, publicize and present the course. This year, invitations were sent to representatives from all schools in the Ingham, Jackson, and Montcalm ISDs and Clinton and Eaton RESAs. The team hopes to expand outreach for future years.
