Shelby Gombosi has been promoted to Associate Director of the Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities (RCPD). Shelby has been with MSU since 2008. She has a background in administration and student affairs and became part of the RCPD team in 2020, where she began as an Access Specialist. She was promoted in 2022 to the RCPD Assistant Director of Case Management, Assessment, & Programmatic Innovation, her most recent role. She has a BS is psychology from Cornerstone University and an MA in Rehabilitation Counseling from MSU.
She pioneered the Promoting Educations & Emotional Resilience (PEER) Program—a psychoeducational workshop that helps students develop resiliency skills utilizing techniques derived from evidence-based practices. She has proven to be an invaluable member of team RCPD—her support of the Access Specialists is unmatched as they collaborate and work to benefit students and employees who identify with RCPD. Shelby has built many important relationships across campus, has been instrumental in increasing awareness and education around disability initiatives campus-wide, and supports RCPD specialists in their creative pursuits. She is dedicated and passionate about working with students with disabilities and advocating for students and MSU employees to achieve success at MSU.
In her new role, Shelby will continue to ensure high-quality services and programs that enhance accessibility, promote equity and inclusion, and foster access.
Outside of the office, Shelby enjoys spending time with her family and friends, kayaking, traveling, attending concerts and music festivals, and traveling to warmer climates for fun by the ocean.
